QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP - MADE IN SCOTLAND
An iconic family-run establishment, proudly preserving the art of traditional Scottish knitting since 1929. As pioneers in seam-free whole garment knitwear, they have earned a reputation for excellence through their mastery of Fair Isle knitting techniques. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes and rich heritage of the North-East and Northern Isles of Scotland. Their commitment to honouring these age-old traditions while embracing innovation ensures that each garment not only captures the beauty of its origins but also meets the modern demands of style and comfort.
BRUSHING
The artisanal technique of brushing with teasels involves using the prickly seed heads of the teasel plant, a traditional tool renowned for their ability to produce a uniquely soft and textured finish that no man-made brush can replicate. The textured surface of the teasel effectively raises the nap of fabrics, creating a soft feel, enhancing their aesthetic quality, and producing a subtle shine. This age-old practice improves the tactile experience of materials, lending them a unique character. As enduring symbols of craftsmanship, teasels remain essential in traditional textile production, reflecting a timeless dedication to quality and artistry.
DESIGN
These classic crew neck jumpers feature a beautifully brushed texture, offering a pleasingly shaggy finish that enhances their appeal. Designed with set-in sleeves and a ribbed hem and cuffs, they offer added flexibility, making them a versatile addition to any wardrobe. Crafted from premium brushed lambswool «pure new wool», these jumpers provide natural softness while remaining breathable during unexpected sunshine, and offer the insulating warmth needed during colder months. This menswear staple combines style and practicality, ensuring both comfort and preppy elegance in equal measure.
SUSTAINABILITY AND SOURCE
Recognised as a sustainable product, the fine wool is locally sourced, with knitwear produced in Scotland using innovative technology that reduces unnecessary yarn waste. The carefully considered seam-free whole garment knitting process ensures each piece is knitted flatbed tubular and cast off the machines as a complete jumper.
